Ghorepani Poonhill trek

Easy short trekking in Annapurna region. Ghorepani Poonhill trek is 3210m maximum to Poonhill from where you can see the magnifecent view of the sunrise over the Annapurna panorama, the picturesque views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. The reason of popularity of this trek is the breathtaking views of the Annapurna ,Dhawlagiri and Fishtail mountain , the views of the natural beauty of green hills, and the traditional cultural of the Hindu and Buddism in local colourful villages and dresses in season of the year.

Day 1: Drive ( 7 hours ) by private transportation or flight ( 21 minuts ) from Kathmandu to Pokhara ( 900m ).
We drive or fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (900 m) on tourist bus enjoying the natural beauty and stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara in choice of Hotel from small guest house up to 5 star according to your budget ..

Day 2: Drive to Nayapul then trek 5 hours to Tikhedhunga ( in Birethanti Check in your Trekking permit in Annapurna conservation area office ).
After breakfast, we drive to Nayapul (1070m) ( 2 hours drive ) from where our trekking starts. Then we start our trek to Tikhedhunga ( 5 hours Trek ) stay Overnight there in small guest house.

Day 3: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani six hours (2810m).
After delicious breakfast we start our trek to Ghorepani a hill station for beautiful Annapurna Himalaya view . We will pass through few suspension bridges and small villages of Gurung and Magar family along this trek. It takes around six hours walk to reach Ghorepani form Tikhedhunga. Then we stay overnight at Ghorepani in a family run small guest house .

Day 4: Ghorepani to Tadapani six hours Trek (2630m).
Early morning wake up and walk up 45 minuts to Poon hill ( 3210m ) to see sunrise is awesome ,On a clear day we can observe Mt. Annapurna and Dhaulagiri and Fishtail ranges. After viewing the sunrise we hike back down to Ghorepani for breakfast and get ready for our next destination Tadapani (2630 m). The route passes through pine forest with occasional view of Mt. Dhaulagiri , Mt.Annapurna South and other more small peaks. The trek to Tadapani from Ghorepani takes around six hours and stay overnight in Tadapani .

Day 5: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk 4 hours (1940m).
After trekking for four hours we reach Ghandruk (1940 m). Ghandruk is a beautiful Gurung village located in the Annapurna region. From there you can see Annapurna south, Himchuli and Mt. Fishtail. This village is famous for Gurung culture and tradition stay overnight.

Day 6: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul 3 hours and we catch our bus or drive ( 2 hours ) by local bus to Pokhara. we drive to Pokhara and will be staying at Pokhara .

Day 7: Flight or drive back to Kathmandu.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Electricity, if there is availability to charge batteries to cameras during trekking part?
     Not very often, But normally yes,first day evening we can have electricity. so they can charge the batteries. They may carry extra batteries also .
  2. Towels, do they need to take their own towels ?
    In the tea house better to carry yourselves  own towels, it will be an excellent idea. 
  3. How we should understand name of accommodation: "tea house"
    Okay ! great, these guest houses are not clean enough .Not very good bed with out  electricity. Not a big restaurant. "'Tea house " means cooking, eating, heating, sitting, singing, Sleeping,dancing,,thinking ,drinking, walking, talking, cleaning , looking, all together in one . They have to carry their own small back pack. 
  4. Is there a possibility to buy oxygen bottle in KTM / Pokhara ?
    It is possible to buy in Kathmandu or bring from your country, The cost is Rs 1000.per cylinder here. ( approx : USD 10.00 per one )
  5. How long tourists will trek during the day ?
    Tourist must walk as they can walk, but they must walk 7 hours a day.
